Give NOLA Day
What is GiveNOLA Day?
Hosted on May 6, 2014, by the Greater New Orleans Foundation, GiveNOLA Day will be the community's first online, charitable giving day. The goal of GiveNOLA Day is to inspire the community to come together for 24 hours and contribute online, raising as many dollars as possible to support our local nonprofit organizations. It’s our day to celebrate New Orleans and the region's spirit of generosity. Every dollar donated to participating nonprofits on May 6th will be stretched with additional matching dollars from the Greater New Orleans Foundation and our local partners.
GiveNOLA Day is tied to a national event called Give Local America where hundreds of community foundations across America ask their communities to give back on May 6, 2014. Sponsored by the Council on Foundations and technology partner Kimbia, Give Local America is raising funds for a national pool from which each participating foundation will receive funds to amplifying local gifts raised in the 24-hour period.
