We will be hearing from Christine Briede, Executive Director of the Jefferson Community Foundation. We will learn how our community is being strengthened through philanthropy.
Meet Christine:
Christine T. Briede, CFRE currently serves as the Executive Director for the Jefferson Community Foundation (JCF). Prior to JCF, she spent three years with the LSU Foundation as the Director of Development for the Paul M. Hebert Law Center and two years as Philanthropy Officer with the American Red Cross. For over 20 years, Christine served as President and majority owner of a foodservice equipment company in New Orleans, selling the business in 2013.
She serves as Chapter President of the Greater New Orleans Association of Fundraising Professionals and is on the Board of Directors for the East Jefferson Business Association, Lambeth House/BSI, and the New Orleans Planned Giving Council. She has served in numerous roles as a national officer for Kappa Alpha Theta since 2003, her most recent as a Theta Foundation Trustee. She previously served on the Board of Directors for CASA-Jefferson, the Junior League of New Orleans, New Orleans American Marketing Association, New Orleans Regional Leadership Institute (NORLI), and the Women’s Professional Council.
Named to the “New Orleans 500” list 2021-2023 and recognized as “New & Notables “ by Biz New Orleans magazine in July 2021. In 2022, Ms. Briede was honored as a New Orleans CityBusiness “Woman of the Year” Hall of Fame recipient after receiving the award three times and St. Elizabeth’s Guild named her as a Volunteer Activist. From 2010 - 2013, Christine was honored as “Top 500 Women Businesses” in the United States by Diversity magazine. In April 2008, she was recognized as a Top Women’s Business Enterprise in the Nation by WE USA magazine. In 1998, Christine was named to Gambit Weekly’s “40 Under 40” list.
Ms. Briede holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast and Film Communication from The University of Alabama. She has completed classes in Nonprofit Management from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management,, has earned a certificate in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion from the University of South Florida’s Muma College of Business, and achieved the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE®) designation in 2020.

JCF focuses on initiatives for education, health and wellness, neighborhood support and revitalization, race equity, senior citizens, as well as transit.
