Hufft Marchand Hospitality will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and igniting a new brand that will focus on cocktails, food, and sports. Barcar is a nod to the building's history as a train depot at the foot of the railroad tracks that run between Metairie Road and the Jefferson/Orleans Parish Line.

"The barcar was known as the social phenomenon between work and home," said Nick Hufft, half of the Hufft Marchand team. "it was a place where people could relax on the train, have drinks and food, and momentarily get a break between the two most important part of their lives."

The bar will feature a focused cocktail list, espresso martini shots and other surprises. The concise food menu will offer a hearty dry-aged burger, lunch and dinner specials and a raw oyster section.
