UNO and Latter & Blum Annual Economic Outlook & Real Estate Forecast Seminar
The University of New Orleans and Latter & Blum, Inc. is presenting the Economic Outlook & Real Estate Forecast Seminar for the New Orleans Region on Friday, May 8, 2015 at the UNO Lakefront Campus in the University Center Ballroom from 8:00AM ? 12:30PM. This annual seminar brings together people from a wide cross-section of the region?s business, professional and civic communities. Registration and networking begins at 8:00AM, followed by opening remarks from UNO President Dr. Peter Fos and Dr. John Williams, Dean of the UNO College of Business Administration. The first panel focusing on ?Healthcare and the Demand for Real Estate in the New Orleans Historic Center? will be moderated by Dr. Walter ?Dub? Lane, Chair of the UNO Department of Economics and Finance. Paolo Zambito of Louisiana Children?s Medical Center (LCMC) Health and a representative from Southeast Louisiana Veterans Healthcare System will provide an overview of the new University Medical Center (UMC)/Veterans Administration (VA) hospital complex and its economic impacts. They will be joined by Kurt Weigle of the Downtown Development District of New Orleans and Dr. John Williams to discuss how the complex will impact all types of real estate, including lodging and convention facilities. The next two panels, moderated by Dr. Robert Penick, Vice President & CFO Latter & Blum, Inc. and UNO Adjunct Professor, will address the trends and outlooks for the real estate market. The Residential Real Estate panel features Richard Haase of Latter & Blum, Inc. and Larry Schedler of Larry G. Schedler & Associates. The Commercial Real Estate panelists include Bruce Sossaman, Corporate Realty, Kirsten Early, SRSA Commercial Real Estate and David Quinn, Max J. Derbes, Inc. The cost to attend the seminar is $40 in advance (registering by Monday, May 4, 2015) and $45 at the door. The event is free to UNO faculty, staff and students, but they must register as well.
