METAIRIE, La. – The Alliance of Area Business Publishers, AABP, presented Biz New Orleans with two awards at its annual conference held last week in Washington, D.C.
Biz New Orleans received the First Place Gold Award for most improved publication, while the Second Place Silver Award was given to Biz New Orleans editor and columnist, Kimberley Singletary, for her entertainment column in the Best Recurring Feature category. The competitive field was both impressive and diverse with 484 entries from 37 publications in the U.S., Canada and Australia.
Headquartered in Los Angeles, the Alliance is a nonprofit national organization representing 55 independent magazine and newspaper members in the United States, Canada and Australia. The annual AABP Editorial Excellence competition recognizes excellence in journalism, photography and design achieved by regional business publications. Twenty-four judges, faculty members from the University of Missouri School of Journalism bring their expertise to the selection process.
