Join the Jefferson Chamber Young Professionals for an incredible evening of eating, education, & networking at Eats & Edu! Meet us at Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar for food, fun, and an educational experience.
The educational topic for our event is “Leading as a Young Professional". Discover and unleash your potential at Eats & Edu. While age and experience may seem like barriers, there are several qualities and approaches that can help young professionals excel. We will discuss points like vision, ambition, adaptability, active communication, building and maintaining relationships, taking initiative, seeking mentorship, embracing feedback, leading by example, resilience, and continuous improvement.
Meet Ronnie:
Ronnie Slone is the Founder (2005) and President of The Slone Group, a consulting firm specializing in organizational development and training for expanding businesses and organizations. Ronnie possesses more than thirty years of experience in operations management, human resources, training, and professional staffing services. Ronnie is an instructor for the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Companies Program at Delgado Community College and the national cohorts at Babson College (He teaches Module #4 "You Are The Leader" and Module #5 "It's People"). He has served as interim executive director of both the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce and the Trinity Community Center. Ronnie also facilitates the Baton Rouge Area Chamber’s Drive Minority Business Accelerator. With all of his professional accomplishments, Ronnie is committed to contributing his time, abilities, and resources to young people in this region. In addition to many volunteer hours with local schools, non-profits, and churches, he was instrumental in the 2010 chartering of JCFA, a school aimed to provide at-risk students with a tailored, technology-based curriculum, internship opportunities, and community college experience. His passion is dealing with high school children and assisting them with the transition to adulthood.
Ronnie's overarching goal in each of his professional undertakings is to help develop companies, a workforce that fits those companies, and grow communities where residents may live, work, and raise a family. This dedication is seen in his work with numerous organizations, including: United Way Southeast Louisiana, Chairman; Chairman of Campaign Cabinet Louisiana Board of Commerce and Industry Discovery Health Sciences Academy, Board Member/Vice-Chair Jefferson Community Foundation Past Board Chair, CASA Jefferson Inc, Jefferson Chamber of Commerce (Served as Chairman of the Education Committee. Former Board Member, GNO Inc (on Policy and Human Capital Committees), Committee for a Better Jefferson, River Region Chamber of Commerce (Served as Chairman of the Education Committee), Past Commissioner City Park New Orleans and Jefferson Dollars for Scholars. Interim Executive Director - Jefferson Chamber of Commerce and Trinity Community Center.
