Gulf South LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce Announces Rebrand to New Orleans LGBTQ+ & Allied Chamber of Commerce
New Orleans, LA — The Gulf South LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce announced today that it is officially rebranding as the New Orleans LGBTQ+ & Allied Chamber of Commerce, representing a strategic shift to align its name with the community it primarily serves.
Originally founded with the goal of creating a regional LGBTQ+ business network across South Louisiana and South Mississippi, the Chamber spent two years investing in outreach, partnerships, and event participation across both states. After evaluating membership data and market engagement, the Chamber’s board unanimously voted to move forward with a name that accurately reflects its active membership base.
“More than 97 percent of our members, sponsors, and event attendees are based in the New Orleans metro area,” said Chamber Board President Jay Huffstatler. “New Orleans is where our members live, work, and build their businesses, and it is where our energy can make the greatest impact.”
The addition of “Allied” to the new name reflects the organization’s commitment to all business owners and professionals who champion inclusion, equity, and economic empowerment.
The Chamber will continue its mission of providing networking opportunities, business visibility, professional development, and advocacy for LGBTQ+ and allied businesses. While programming will focus on the New Orleans market, the organization remains open to collaborative partnerships across South Louisiana and South Mississippi.
